Hawk speaks to you
You are on the sacred spiral to make your medicine wheel. As you hear the ancient ones sing, and open your eyes, the spirit animals will return and make a spiral in your own visionary space. They will return and spiral around you and come in visionary space. They become the your spirits, your power animals, in each of the directions. You create a spiral of energy around you that becomes the medicine wheel.
The spirit animals return is about you finding your own helper spirit animal and listening to its voice. In traditional cultures, the shaman was always accompanied by spirit animal helpers. They protected him or her and gave them power. It is easy, people are attracted to animals and naturally find an animal who will help them know themselves and heal. If you are wearing an animal t-shirt, if you have an animal at the zoo you visit, if you have stuffed animals or toy animals around you, if you go out in nature to visit an animal, you already have a power animal.
Now it is time to welcome them and use them to make medicine wheels and heal. The animal themes in each person's life and in the world are the themes and essence of the lived experience of each of the animals. For example, the owl is about seeing out of the owls eyes and being taken, it is about waking up and being seen, of emerging from the night from dreams and visions and being taken deeper, it is about being eaten to the bones, going inside of her and being born again. The owl is about being taken to be born again. The lion is about passion, about manifestation, about power and about energy. The lion is strong, self contained yet lives in a collective, is huge. It looms, it needs room, it is brave and fearless. The bear is about the shamanic journey. The bear is solitary especially the males. Bears go deep into nature.
There is the rhythm of nature in each animal. Each animal has it own particular rhythm. Bears are about eating salmon, mating, making babies, they are about intensity. The turtle is about being old, about conservative habits, about protection, about laying in the sun to keep warm, about being an ancient part of the living earth. The snake is about worship, about goddesses, about kundalini rising.
The nature of the animals is what they really are. The truth about birds of prey is that they take you. You are taken into your dreams, into your fear of the darkness, into a world where things are hunted. You are taken into a different world. You go inside their call, you listen to them speak to each other. You can scan the landscape for sound. You become a hunter, a hunter of your own psyche. You find yourself. You go into your darkness to go into your own nature and your own life. You are inside of the bird and the bird takes you there.
You do not need to do anything to get an animal. They will choose you. The animals are waiting for you to come. They are standing over your shoulder waiting to be invited to appear. Invite them and they will show themselves. Does the animal which comes to you wait for just you? It is only your guide? It seems like the animals know us and wait for us. Some people even believe that the animal is yours for life. Is it? In our experience, some people get animal for life, for others, the animals change
